Although these sweeteners have ZERO calories, that does not mean they have ZERO impact on your health and metabolism.
It just isn’t as simple as:
Let’s replace our sugar cravings with artificial sweeteners, AND not listen to what our cravings have to tell us.
Let’s take artificial sweeteners with zero calories and magically lose weight.
I wish it were!
When our bodies craves sugar there is a reason for it! When our bodies are gaining weight there is a reason for it. I wish allopathic medicine, scientists, and the media would bring these points to the conversation. But no, we all look for shortcuts. And we all know the shortcut is never the solution, unless you are driving through busy city traffic.
I have fallen for the artificial sweetener trap myself. And I paid for it, hard! I didn’t do it to stop my cravings and lose weight. I did it because I thought sugar and carbs were feeding my infections, so I stopped eating carbs, natural sugar and fruits ….. and guess what? I never got better, and my infections never went away, until I put a stop to it all and learned to deeply understand the metabolism of the human body!

Metabolic disruption!
Migraines
Infertility
Cancer
Low birthweight
Hepatotoxicity
Weight Gain!

Artificial sweeteners provide the sweetness of sugar without the calories...
But are they truly harmless?
Research correlates the use of artificial sweeteners with many health issues including metabolic dysfunction, WHICH ironically is the reason why many people use them.
That's right, fix your metabolism, and sugar will be your friend.
Did you ever notice that all those soda pop cans include the word Diet? Diet coke, Diet Dr Peppers, Diet Mountain Dew, Diet Pepsi? There is “Die” in all of these!
The truth is in plain sight!
Artificial sweeteners like aspartame have been added to diet drinks since 1983!
Artificial sweeteners in action:
Aspartame, one of the most widely used artificial sweeteners, destroys the neurons in the hypothalamus that use the leptin receptor!!! Aspartame makes leptin levels FALL. Which stimulates appetite and suppresses energy expenditure until fat mass is restored. Which is the first step to obesity. The opposite of what you are trying to achieve by using fake sugars.
Long-term use is linked to diabetes and cancer because aspartame causes neurodegeneration and impaired learning.
Big Mac and diet coke to get in shape?? I don’t think so!
Artificial sweeteners have other biological impacts.
They change our microbiome and disrupt the way our insulin works.
An increase in strokes has been observed, because they impact cardiovascular indicators.
But most of all they push people to eat more because your body is not dumb. You just gave it zero calories while you were craving sweets and temporarily fooled your body. Your system now doubles down, and your hunger returns with a vengeance.
Most people truly think artificial sweeteners are healthy. It is so ingrained in our thinking that we automatically grab it to sweeten our drinks or pick between different soda choices.
You can’t hack your way into a “healthy” diet with artificial sweeteners. Maybe you can in the short term, but wait for the backlash. It will come.

What about preventing tooth decay using artificial sweeteners? Tooth decay is something that happens from the inside out. If you want to stop tooth decay, you would need to start re-mineralizing your body. What are teeth made out of? Eat that. Get that in abundance and make sure your gut is intact so that you can absorb all your vitamins and minerals from the food you eat. Plus, there are natural mouth/nose protocols that support your mouth biome and keep the bad bugs in check while you heal from the inside.
What if you have diabetes? Fructose doesn’t need insulin to get into your cells so it’s safe to eat fruits in combination with protein. Sugar is not responsible for the development of diabetes. Diabetes is a deep metabolic issues that needs balancing and repair on a foundational level.
No artificial sweeteners and now what?
Check ingredients for artificial sweeteners and stop using them.
Avoid diet sodas and cokes. Drink the real deal.
Use honey and maple syrup instead. They provide a bucket full of beneficial properties that are very healthy.
Eat fruits.
Use fizzy drinks to keep it fun.
